In order to accept online payments with your iMinistries site, a merchant account and gateway is required. We are integrated with Authorize.net (www.authorize.net), Harris Bank (www.moneris.com) and BluePay (www.bluepay.com).
About Merchant Accounts
Before you get started, there are several things you should know about merchant accounts, be sure to do your homework before you get started. There are a lot of websites out there that hare helpful, one of which is www.ampyourcashflow.com. It outlines a lot of things to be aware of. When shopping for merchant and gateway providers, be sure to ask about:
- Annual Account Fees
- Monthly Customer Support Fees
- Monthly Gateway Fees
- Per Transaction Fees
- Minimum Transaction Fee
- Will The Rates Quoted Change
- Cancellation Fee
Of note is that there are different kinds of transactions. Most merchant account providers quote the fully-qualified rate. This rate is only available for transactions where the card is swiped and a signature is received. Internet transactions are never fully-qualified. The most common transactions are mid-qualified. These are transactions where the credit card number, security code and address are all received and match the records of the bank. The worst kind of transaction is non-qualified. These are transactions which do not match the criteria of a mid-qualified transaction. Merchant account providers do not care for non-qualified transactions and therefore charge a higher rate for these.

Once you have secured your Merchant Account, you will now need to connect it to your website by configuring your Merchant Account.
